Rosa Mexicano Restaurants, a successful casual fine dining restaurant group known for outstanding hospitality and service and for offering an authentic menu that the Zagat Survey calls, "the 'gold standard' of 'upscale modern' Mexican cuisine", with locations in Boston, NY, DC, NJ and MD seeks an Assistant General Manager for our Boston, MA location.

The AGM is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant they lead is managed successfully. Assist in managing the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve established objectives in sales, costs, profitability, employee training & development, retention, guest service & satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness & sanitation & property maintenance.

  • Manages overall day to day operations of the restaurant
  • Maintains schedules, payroll and other administrative support to maintain food and beverage cost controls including inventory and pars
  • Oversees scheduling, payroll, other administrative reporting/tasks
  • Maintains excellent relationships with guests, staff, support team, vendors, etc. 
  • Works with the Chef and management team in ensuring the menu and food experience is top quality
  • Rolls out new service and culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
  • Hires, trains, and develops all FOH restaurant staff in fine dining service standards
  • Conducts HR functions including hiring, training & development, progressive counseling, terminations
  • Organizes and conducts pre-shift and departmental meetings daily
  • Maintains communication with all departments to ensure customer service needs are met
  • Creates seating charts and station assignments daily, following up with support staff of daily expected business
  • Maintains all reservation systems and books to accommodate business demands
  • Creates side work assignments and ensures completion with wait staff 
  • Maintains the highest level of service to client/guest, ensuring their satisfaction
  • Maintains cleanliness and presentation of dining room area
  • Investigates and resolves all client/guest complaints in a timely, professional, diplomatic manner 

Experience Includes:

  •  5-8 years of upscale restaurant experience in Management position
  • Food Handler certified

  • Knowledgeable with Labor Laws, Health Codes, Safety, Food Handling and Sanitation

  • High volume production and catering experience is essential

  • Previous experience managing a budget

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
